Alasdair MacCuish- Creative DirectorAlasdair set up Bees Nees in 2004 and directs the output from all our creative teams. He started his career as a music producer at the BBC and to date has exec produced over a hundred hours of broadcast television. On a personal note, he firmly believes that the accordion is the finest musical instrument ever invented. Waiting for popular opinion to catch up. -
Iain MacLeod- Head of ProductionProduced and directed more hours of TV than he would like to admit. Being weaned on a diet of Kerrs Pink potatoes and Cremola foam are apparently the source of all his powers. Iain is also known for his long (some would say informative!) emails and being ready with a joke to lighten the mood. -
Kevin McCue- Head of PostAfter an illustrious career in audio post south of the border, Kevin was tempted by Glasgow’s balmy climate to ply his trade up here. Kevin runs The Hive, our post-production business, whilst also making sure Bees Nees OBs run like clockwork. If you’re in a hurry, don’t get him started on file-based workflows! -
Marcus Harben- Development ProducerMarcus has been working in TV as Producer / Director for over 10 years. He has worked across all genres of TV on shows as varied as 'Laughing At The '90s with Jennifer Saunders' to 'The Culture Show' to the award-winning kids comedy show 'Hedz'. He claims to have met most of the world’s top film stars and he once taught Johnny Depp cockney rhyming slang in a lift! -
Stewart Cruickshank- ProducerAKA ‘The Professor’ Stewart has been producing music programmes so long that some say he actually invented rock and roll, or the very least introduced Lennon to McCartney! A rarely spotted creature, usually only seen after dark and has a penchant for a denim shirt. -
Ken Mutch- ProducerAnother of our seasoned music producers, Kenny knows more about popular music than, well, almost everyone. His Aberdonian roots means that he has been known to haggle the price of a packet of crisps, but more shocking than that, his favourite pastime is to wear his lime-green mankini! Ask nicely and we’ll send you a picture! -
Sineag MacIntyre- Production AssistantA walking repository of song, Sineag took the scenic route from her native South Uist to television production, going via the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and radio production. But it was worth the wait. Guaranteed to light up any location, she remains the producers' first and last line of defence, Sineag ensures that all of our productions run smoothly and that the office runs on tea. -
Helen Wicks- Post Production SupervisorHelen is the queen of the schedule at The Hive. She looks after all of our wonderful post production clients, so whether you are looking to hire one of our suites for your next grade and dub, or have heard how good the coffee is, Helen is the one you want to speak to. Oh, she is also fond of a tweet or two! -
Darren MacLean- EditorPurveyor of dreadful jokes, painful puns and cast iron solutions to your editing and workflow problems, Darren spends his waking hours mobilising technology. Such is his dedication to post production that he has gone for weeks without sleep, sunlight or breathing fresh air. Perfectly suited to being a submariner, then; the Royal Navy's loss is our gain -
John Devine- Dubbing MixerIreland's gift to audio post-production displays a fondness for country music, '72 Telecasters, David Brown tractors and old school trainers. Admittedly, none of those are a pre-requisite for Olympic-standard dubbing and track-laying. However, John can detect sounds that dolphins, bats and NATO listening posts can't. 'Nuff said.
